If NNHT can be an organization that lobbies for progressive initiatives from government and takes focused projects to fruitation by complimenting and providing a centralized communication portal for non - profits to cut the red tape and make projects happen.
Getting the meetings on the web so everyone, who wishes to participate can, must be a priority. It is important to address that all efforts are transparent and inclusive and those that cannot participate either because of a disability, transportation or scheduling conflicts are accommodated.
Parks and open space should be a focus as well as family activities that invite families to return to the parks.
If we could get some gyms open on weeknights and the weekend that would be a step forward.
What about an outreach street team to go out and begin dialog with those at risk?
What about prodding the BOE to toss out the curriculum of yestercentury and upgrading to a curriculum that involves and stimulates students.
Why cant we make Fodor a spectacular place that inspires community dignity.
How about teens visiting retirement homes and performing?
What about having a weekly educational/ documentary film festival.
What about making our own documentary?
What about the Y using an old Madison ave tactic, regular open houses.
Someone mentioned scared straight, think that is an area that needs exploring.
Any ways to ease tensions in the community and establish a dialog between public safety officers and adolescents will have dramatic positive effect.
Curfews and ever increasing consequences can only inflame resentment.
Communication is the only answer.
A founding charter should include a mandate to pursue programs and activities that establish and maintain dialog throughout our entire community and all the diverse cultures.
If we cant communicate we have no chance to understand.

Off to a good start.
We have some very committed founders and members.
We need a charter, and ideas to involve everyone.
Well, there are a few ideas, lets see some more.
Those are exactly the sort of comments/suggestions we are looking to receive through this blog. We truly seem to be headed in the right direction.
So long as we keep up the growth of involvement and actually begin to put action to our words, this program will be just want our kids need!
